Neal F. Zimmers, Jr.
Neal F. Zimmers Jr., has more than 40 years experience in a broad range of public policy issues working in all levels of government. He brings this wealth of experience in strategic planning and dealing with all aspects of politics and government policy for clients.
During his 20 years in the Senate he served as Senate President Pro-Tempore and Assistant Minority Leader. He chaired a number of key Senate committees during his tenure, including Energy & Public Utilities, Ways and Means and Banking & Financial Institutions. Mr. Zimmers served 26 years as a public official, having been elected twice as Judge of Montgomery County District Court (Dayton) and five terms as State Senator.
Additionally, Mr. Zimmers has practiced law in Ohio over 40 years and has considerable experience in numerous practice areas. In addition, he has served as General Counsel of the Ohio Democratic Party. He is a member of the Bars of the District of Columbia and the State of Ohio.
He previously was a Vice-President, Ohio Governmental Affairs of CSX Corporation for nine years.
He graduated from Denison University with a B.A. degree and from The George Washington University Law School with a Juris Doctor.
Zimmers currently serves as Secretary-Treasurer of the Ohio Building Authority and Secretary of the Capitol Square Review & Advisory Board, both as an appointee of Gov. Strickland. He recently completed a term as a member of the Ohio Arts Council, as an appointee of former Governor Taft. He is a member of the Board of the Capitol Square Foundation, and serves as a trustee of the Eichelberger Foundation, located in Dayton, Ohio.
