SHC Washington Office Offers Internships for Those Seeking Career Advancement

Strategic Health Care (SHC) offers internship opportunities for the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters for college students and recent graduates interested in gaining hands-on experience in health care government relations consulting.

SHC values interns with strong writing, research, and analytical skills, a curiosity and interest in health care policy, and an understanding of how the government functions. Typical responsibilities for our interns include, but are not limited to, legislation tracking, policy research, bill and regulation summaries, covering Committee hearings, and organizing Capitol Hill meetings.

SHC interns support a bipartisan team of seasoned professionals working on health care policy and actively engaged in the federal debate on health care policy. These professional’s background include health care advocacy, staff posts in Committees and Congressional Members’ offices, political campaigns, and health association.

SHC’s client base focuses on health care providers and patients across the country – specifically health systems, hospitals, trade associations, and patient advocacy groups.

Past interns often have educational backgrounds in political science, public policy, law, and public health, but SHC encourages students and professionals from all types of backgrounds to apply. Past interns have gone on to positions at the Institute of Medicine, graduate work at Johns Hopkins, Yale, and Rutgers Law, as well as the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions.
